Del Valle Reservoir

Fun at the Lake.

Del Valle Regional Park, part of the East Bay Regional Park District, is located in a valley framed by oak-covered hills. The centerpiece of the park is a five-mile long lake, with all kinds of water-oriented recreation, surrounded by 4,316 acres of beautiful land for hiking, horseback riding, and nature study. Del Valle is also the eastern gateway to the Ohlone Wilderness Trail, 28 miles of scenic back country trail.

Participation is mandatory for all scouts.

  • Meet at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church at 8:00 a.m.; we will depart no later than 8:30 a.m.

  • Wear Class A (Scout Shirt, Neckerchief, Scout pants, boots.)

  • Bring:

    • Items on the Campout Packing List (See Reources page)

    • Compass

    • BSA 10 Essentials in a backpack

    • Sack lunch

  • Do NOT bring ipods, electronics

  • Pick up at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church approximately 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.  Watch for text message Sunday morning with ETA.

Getting There...

Del Valle Regional Park is located at 7000 Del Valle Road, off Mines Road, south of Livermore. Exit I-580 eastbound or westbound in Livermore at North Livermore Avenue. Head south and proceed through town (North Livermore Avenue will become South Livermore Avenue in town, then becomes Tesla Road). About 1.5 miles outside town, turn right at Mines Road, go about 3.5 miles, and continue straight on Del Valle Road (Mines Road turns left). The park entrance is about four miles ahead.
