Dad, Mom, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, you name it: they're invited on this exhilarating adventure exploring one of the world's great wild rivers -- the Gorge Run of the South Fork of the American River--the most popular destination for whitewater rafting in California. The South Fork of the American River is a great introduction to professionally guided rafting trips... the ideal river for families with kids and any group wanting to enjoy a fun yet relaxing day on the river together.

All Scouts who participate will earn credit towards their Whitewater Merit Badge! (Merit Badge info and worksheets here.)

 

We will meet the outfitter at 9:00 a.m. to work on the merit badge. Equipment setup and ride to entry point at 10:00 a.m.  A three hour tour on the river, then a short bus ride to camp, arriving by 4:30 p.m., then head home to WCPC, arriving around 7:30 p.m.
 

  • Meet at WCPC at 6:00 a.m.

  • Wear Class A (Scout Shirt, Neckerchief, Scout pants with swim trunks underneath, boots.)

  • Pick up at WCPC approximately 7:00 p.m.

  • Cost:

    • Scouts, $85​

    • Siblings (8 to 16 y.o.), $115

    • Adults, $125 

  • Two Ways to Pay:

    • Checks payable to Troop 818 in Boot's mailbox by July 26.
